Have you ever wondered about who you are? I think most people don’t. I mean, who would? People are just so busy working and studying that they actually don’t think who they really are. For example, they forget their past, and they even don’t know their actual personality. They never think of this deeply because they are just too busy living their life. They just think I’m this and I’m that and… finished! That’s all. However, I’m going to be different. I’m going to recollect my past and think more about who I am. It will be like exploring my own life and my self.
WHO AM I?
I was born in Daegu, Korea. Many people know what hospital and when they were born but I keep forgetting those information, even though my mom told me like 10 times. Well, I don’t care. You don’t HAVE to know what hospital or when you were born. You only have to know your birthday, right? I was born in October 17th 1996. I was named Chaeryoung Woo. In Korean, it is 우채령. I was always the tallest kid in class, however from time to time, there was one kid who was taller than me. For example, now, LISA!!!!!! Well, I think it is okay. I hated being the tallest and always standing at the back, so…… I actually like Lisa being the tallest.
YOUNG AND FULL OF DREAMS
In kindergarten, I drew something and I got an award for it. After that, I got many other awards in Arts. At that time, I was little and I didn’t know anything about the process of being an artist and I had a dream of becoming one. After that, I went into elementary school and about half a year later, I moved. In my new school, I started learning piano. It was fun and easy, I simply liked it. I changed my dream to become a pianist. I learned swimming as well and it was more fun. I liked playing in the water, except for the water going into my nose, Once again, my dream changed into becoming swimmer. However, this didn’t last long because my teacher bit my toe for not doing it right. I was little and I got so freaked out that I lied about getting sick and not being able to swim. My dream vanished very sadly.
MY WEIRD AND COMICAL LIFE IN US
When I was 10, I moved to US. I didn’t speak English that well. I only knew how to say hi, introduce myself, and other few words. It was sooooo hard for me at first. I spoke weird English at that time and people I talked to didn’t understand. I was frustrated and couldn’t take it. I needed to talk to people but those people wouldn’t understand what I was talking about. I had lots of problems at that time but my English improved very much and I made some whacky friends, which also affected me and turned me into a crazy person. They were so weird; one of them licked the floor just because he wanted some cheese powder. When I was in US, my family and I always traveled around US. ALL THE TIME! Like what Ms. Sidonie is doing right now, I guess. I might had liked it if it wasn’t for all the time I was stuck in the car. We always traveled by car to save money. As everybody knows, US is a large country and it takes LARGE amount of time going to one city to another. For example, we went to Las Vegas. It took 2 DAYS! Can you imaging being stuck in a car for 2 days? It was horrible and boring. At that time, I didn’t have any electronique stuff to play with. You cannot imagine the boredom I faced. After 2 years, I had to live US leaving my friends behind. However, I didn’t cry, because I didn’t feel like crying.
OLD & NEW
I went back to my old school in Korea, hoping to meet my friends. Well, I met them, sadly, they had changed into different people. They had grown! I felt like I was in different world with them. I always felt left out so I became shy, if you say it in good way. Before, I was very active, like Atika. Now, I can’t talk to people I don’t know. I try to act hyper and active but sometimes I can’t help it. Next year, I went to new school and made new friends. I don’t know why, but my mood kept changing at that time (it still does). I was happy then few minutes later, I became sad for no reason. I was just getting used to my new personality and Korea when I had to move AGAIN!
MY ABNORMAL SCHOOL AND FRIENDS
When I first came to Indonesia, it was holiday. I had nothing to do and nowhere to go. I stayed at home everyday and I gained 5 kilos. I BECAME A PIG!! Anyway, I went to my new school and I hated EVERYTHING about it. The building, the uniforms and other many other things. It was so weird! Especially the batik, the name of our uniform. I didn’t even know that kind of clothing existed. Well, whether I liked it or not, it was my school. I made many friends, who are also very weird. When we are together, there are no normal people. The conversation isn’t normal either. It is always about something abnormal.
Well, that’s it! You read about my life! What do you think? When I was young, my dream changed many times, but I started having no dream at all when I understood the procedure of becoming something. It was painful to think that I was the only person with no dream, but I realized something. There are many people without a dream! And my personality!! It’s very mixed up. I can be crazy but at the same time, I can be shy too. To conclude, I only get crazy to people I’m close with or you can just say that my personality is not a normal one.

Rene Magritte
Our Art teacher, Mr.Torr, gave us an assignment. It is to find an artist and research about him or her. At first, I didn't have a clue of what I should do. Then, I saw some comic that explains about the famous artists. There were many artists but there was one artist with really strange paintings. It was Rene Magritte. I made my mind to research about Rene Magritte and his works. Here's the result!
WHO IS RENE MAGRITTE?
Magritte, René (1898-1967), Belgian Surrealist known for mysterious and witty paintings. Using a deliberately banal painting style, he sought to penetrate the boredom of everyday life to reach something fantastic. He used his camera in much the same way, making photographs that manage to shimmer mysteriously, appearing by turns extraordinarily dull and extraordinary. He frequently posed his friends and more often his wife Georgette in tableaux with the same deadpan approach as is characteristic of his paintings; other images, however, are more casual, apparently recording the doings of Magritte and his fellow Surrealists.
WORKS OF RENE MAGRITTE
The Lovers I, II
The Human Condition Series
La Reproduction Interdite
The Promenades of Euclid
The Treachery of Images
L'art de vivre
This is the photo that made me choose Rene Magritte over all of the other artists.
It was out of normal, but I heard that Magritte was a realist artist.
I always known Rene Magritte as a realist, but this does not look so realistic.
That's why I got interest in Magritte.
It was weird and interesting and I wanted to know more about an artist called Rene Magritte.
Science Project!
In our group, there are Joung In, Ji Yun and me.
These 3 pictures are the process of making the board, which was displayed on Science Day.
This picture shows Ji Yun working on the flower, which is our experiment.
I'm not in the picture because I took the photo.
This is the result of our experiment.
It shows the change of color in the white flower and the movement of water through the flower, osmosis.
It is the fianl display board that we displayed on Science Day.
We didn't won any awards or anything but I think it was good experience.
Also, it was cool to watch the flower change its color.
I had fun doing this experiment and I learned things too! :)
